Tageslage (tageslage.de) is an independent Swedish digital news publisher registered in Gibraltar and operated by Tageslage Media Ltd. Our editorial policy sets out the standards, processes and principles that govern everything we publish. Every article is produced by named journalists, reviewed by an editor and fact-checked before publication, with AI tools used only to support human work under strict oversight.
Who is responsible for what we publish?
Chefredaktör Maximilian Roth holds overall responsibility for editorial standards, publication decisions and corrections. He can be reached at anders.lindqvist@tageslage.de.
Day-to-day oversight is managed by Redaktionschef Lisa Schumacher, who commissions articles, reviews headlines and directs the newsroom. Politikredaktör Tobias Graf, Wirtschaftreporter Caroline Arnold, Kultur- och samhällsredaktör Philipp Klein and Ansvarig för faktagranskning Sophie Lehmann each oversee their respective beats.
Every named writer is accountable for the accuracy of their own work. Byline responsibility means that readers can always identify who wrote a piece and contact them via their Tageslage email address. Full team details are on our Our Team page.
How do we distinguish news, opinion, features, sponsored and affiliate content?
We categorise every piece clearly so readers know exactly what they are reading. News articles report facts and events without commentary. Opinion pieces are labelled as such and represent the author’s personal analysis, not the publication’s position. Features provide deeper context but remain grounded in journalistic fact-checking.
Sponsored content is clearly marked with a “Sponsored” label and is produced in accordance with our Sponsored Content Policy. Commercial relationships never influence editorial conclusions. Affiliate links are disclosed prominently within articles or at the point of interaction. Our Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure page explains how we use these revenue streams. All other content, including advertorial or partnership pieces, is labelled so there is no ambiguity.
How do we ensure article-level transparency?
Every article published on Tageslage carries a byline, a publication date and a “last updated” timestamp where relevant. We also include the editor who reviewed the piece and the fact-checker who verified it. If corrections are made after publication, we append an editor’s note explaining the change and the date. Our Corrections Policy details this process.
For pieces that use AI-assisted tools — for research, drafting, formatting, translation, summaries or transcription — we disclose this at the bottom of the article with a standard line: “This article was supported by digital tools for research and drafting. All editorial content was reviewed and approved by a human editor.” AI is never used to fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines, author experience or expert profiles.
How do we maintain independence?
Tageslage Media Ltd. is a privately held company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry), with its registered office at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000. No external shareholder, advertiser, political party or interest group has any editorial control. Our funding comes from display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing — all managed separately from the newsroom. Our editorial team makes all publication decisions independently. Advertisers and sponsors are never given advance access to content or the right to approve, edit or kill stories. We disclose all commercial relationships and clearly label sponsored material as such.
What is our approach to AI and automation?
AI-assisted tools may support research, editing, formatting, translation, metadata generation, headline options, summaries and transcription. However, no automated system replaces human editorial judgement. Every piece of published editorial content — including drafts, final versions and corrections — is reviewed and approved by a named human editor. Our AI and Automation Policy outlines the specific tools we use and the oversight protocols in place.
We prohibit the use of AI to generate quotes, fabricate sources, create fictional interviews or invent author credentials. Any use of AI that affects content is disclosed to readers.

You can expect truthful, well-sourced reporting that distinguishes facts from opinion. You can expect named writers, editors and fact-checkers who are accountable for their work. You can expect clear labels for sponsored, commercial and affiliate content. And you can expect prompt, transparent corrections when we get something wrong.
We do not publish clickbait, sensationalised headlines or unsubstantiated claims. How do we handle mistakes?
Mistakes are inevitable in journalism, but we correct them openly and promptly. We will investigate, issue a correction if warranted and update the article with an editor’s note.
