How do I submit a complaint?

Send your complaint to complaints@tageslage.de. You can also use the general contact address info@tageslage.de if you prefer, but complaints are handled faster when directed to the dedicated mailbox. Provide your name, contact details, the specific article or content in question, and a clear explanation of your concern.

Our complaints team acknowledges every submission within two working days. We ask that you include the article headline, publication date, and the byline of the writer where possible. If your complaint relates to a factual error, please cite the source you believe corrects the record. Vague or anonymous submissions may not be processed.

Who handles my complaint?

Sophie Lehmann, Ansvarig för faktagranskning (fact-checking editor), reviews all complaints in the first instance. She can be reached via emma.sandberg@tageslage.de. Sophie leads the fact-checking team and works with the newsroom to verify claims, correct errors, and respond to concerns about accuracy, fairness, or omission.

If Sophie is unable to resolve the issue, or if the complaint relates to editorial policy or a serious breach of standards, the matter is escalated to Maximilian Roth, Chefredaktör. Maximilian can be contacted at anders.lindqvist@tageslage.de. As the editor-in-chief, he makes final decisions on corrections, retractions, and editorial apologies. He also reviews complaints about journalistic misconduct or systemic issues.

What happens after I submit a complaint?

We assess each complaint against our editorial policy and corrections policy. Within five working days, you will receive a substantive response explaining the outcome. If we identify a factual error, we will correct the article and note the change. If we find no error, we will explain our reasoning.

Where a complaint reveals a pattern of error or a procedural failing, we conduct an internal review and may update our guidelines. We log all complaints to monitor trends and improve our journalism. Complainants are notified when action is taken, even if that action is a decision not to change the published content.

How do we handle mistakes?

Tageslage Media Ltd. takes accuracy seriously. If we publish incorrect information, we correct it promptly and transparently. Corrections are appended to the original article with a note explaining what changed and why. Significant errors may result in a formal correction notice or, in rare cases, a retraction.

We distinguish between minor clarifications and substantive corrections. A typographical fix does not require an editor’s note, but any change that affects the meaning of a story is flagged. Our full corrections policy is available on this site, and we encourage readers to hold us accountable.

What you can expect from us

We treat every complaint fairly, confidentially, and without delay. Our team reads each submission carefully. We do not dismiss concerns because they come from outside Sweden or from a non-expert. Every point raised is investigated by a named editor, and we provide a clear, written response.

We also commit to separating commercial interests from editorial decisions. Our advertising and affiliate disclosure explains how we fund our work, but no sponsor or partner influences how we handle complaints or corrections. If your complaint involves sponsored content, we will flag that and handle it under the same standards.

Can I escalate if I am not satisfied?

Yes. If you believe your complaint was not addressed properly, you can contact Maximilian Roth directly. He will review the entire case and issue a final response from the publisher. There is no charge for this escalation, and you will receive a decision within ten working days.

If your concern is about a legal issue, such as defamation or privacy, you may also contact our legal team via legal@tageslage.de. For matters involving data protection, see our privacy policy. We also provide a separate complaints procedure for third-party content, user comments, and advertising.
