Werbe- & Affiliate-Hinweise

Tageslage (tageslage.de) is an independent Swedish digital news publisher owned by Tageslage Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry). This page explains how we fund our journalism, the role of advertising and affiliate links on our site, and the safeguards we maintain to preserve editorial independence. Our funding model is built on transparency: readers should know exactly how revenue is generated and what boundaries exist between commercial arrangements and editorial content.

How does Tageslage fund its journalism?

Tageslage generates revenue through display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing. These income streams allow us to offer our reporting free of charge to readers in Sweden and internationally.

Full details of our ownership structure and funding sources are available on our ownership and funding page. Commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions, and no advertiser or partner has influence over what we publish. Chefredaktör Maximilian Roth and the editorial team retain complete control over all content decisions.

What are affiliate links and when do we use them?

Affiliate links are tracked URLs that may earn Tageslage a small commission if a reader clicks through and makes a purchase from a partner merchant. We use them only where the link is relevant to the article and adds value for the reader.

Every article containing an affiliate link carries a clear disclosure, usually near the link or in a standard note at the foot of the piece. The link does not affect the price you pay. Our editorial team, including Wirtschaftreporter Caroline Arnold and Redaktionschef Lisa Schumacher, selects products or services based solely on editorial merit, never on commercial incentive. Affiliate revenue helps sustain our newsroom but never dictates story selection or coverage.

How does display advertising work on our site?

Display advertising appears as banners, boxes or native placements across our pages. Ads are served by third-party networks and selected programmatically or through direct sales managed by our partnerships team.

All display advertisements are clearly distinguished from editorial content. No ad placement is permitted that mimics our editorial style or could mislead a reader into believing it is independent journalism. Readers who wish to enquire about display advertising should contact advertising@tageslage.de. For broader commercial partnerships, the address is partnerships@tageslage.de. Advertisers have no input into editorial planning, headline selection or the timing of publication.

What you can expect from us

We maintain a clear separation between commercial operations and editorial decision-making. Every sponsored or paid piece is labelled as such, and affiliate links are disclosed. No amount of advertising spend can buy coverage, suppress a story or alter a fact-check.

Our fact-checking unit, led by Sophie Lehmann (Ansvarig för faktagranskning), verifies sources and claims independently of any commercial pressure. Readers can review our wider editorial standards on the editorial policy page and our approach to corrections on the corrections policy page. The fact-checking policy sets out the methodology behind every verification we perform.

How is sponsored content handled?

Sponsored content is material that has been paid for by an external organisation and is published on our site. Every sponsored article, video or newsletter edition is clearly labelled with a visible tag such as “Sponsored” or “Paid content” at the top of the page.

Sponsored pieces are reviewed by the editorial team to ensure they meet our quality and legal standards, but they are produced under a separate agreement with the sponsor. Our detailed sponsored content policy explains how these pieces are commissioned, labelled and reviewed. No sponsored content is permitted to misrepresent facts, and any claims made must be verifiable. Readers can always distinguish sponsored material from independent journalism by the label and the format.

Questions or concerns?

If you have a question about a specific advertisement, an affiliate link or a sponsored piece, please contact our commercial team at advertising@tageslage.de or partnerships@tageslage.de. For editorial concerns about advertising influence or content independence, contact Chefredaktör Maximilian Roth at anders.lindqvist@tageslage.de or the general editorial desk at editorial@tageslage.de.

Complaints about commercial practices or editorial conduct can also be submitted via our complaints procedure. We take every query seriously and aim to respond within five working days. For privacy matters related to advertising or data use, please refer to our privacy policy and cookie policy.
