How do we use AI and automation in our work?
At Tageslage, AI-assisted tools may support research, drafting, formatting, translation, metadata generation, headline options, summaries and transcription throughout the editorial process, but these tools never replace human editorial judgement. Every piece of content we publish is reviewed and approved by a named human editor before it reaches our readers.
These tools help our team work more efficiently. For example, AI may assist Politikredaktör Tobias Graf in transcribing Riksdag debates or suggest headline variations for Wirtschaftreporter Caroline Arnold’s market analyses. A human editor always reviews and approves the final output, ensuring accuracy, fairness and clarity. The technology is a support, not a decision-maker.
What is the human guarantee behind every article?
Every article published by Tageslage is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor and fact-checked before publication. Chefredaktör Maximilian Roth bears ultimate responsibility for editorial standards and all publication decisions, supported by our fact-checking lead Sophie Lehmann, who oversees source verification and corrections.
This human chain of responsibility — from writer to editor to fact-checker — ensures that no content reaches readers without careful scrutiny. What are the strict prohibitions on AI use?
AI must never fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines, author experience or expert profiles at Tageslage. Any use of AI that could mislead readers about the origin, authorship or veracity of our journalism is strictly forbidden and enforced by our editorial team under Chefredaktör Maximilian Roth.
These prohibitions are reviewed regularly and apply to every member of staff and contributor. Breaches are treated as serious editorial misconduct. We also prohibit the use of AI to generate automated news stories without human oversight, or to create content that could deceive readers about its provenance. Our team is trained to understand both the capabilities and the limits of these tools.
